Ask Kim

Q: I’m single with an active social life, which means at least two nights a week I find myself heading out for an after work cocktail. I like to keep up with fashion, so I’m looking for trendy looks that transition well from day to night. Any suggestions?

There is nothing more classically day-to-night than a go-to blazer. Throw one on to automatically dress up or down your ensemble, whether it be with an on-trend plaid skirt or skinny jeans. You can have it on during the day with a more formal top and pencil skirt, then switch the skirt to jeans with your pumps and you have a great look.

Q: My wardrobe is mostly basic black in classic silhouettes. Lately, I’m getting a bit bored with it. What’s a statement piece I can add to spice things up?

One of the statements pieces that I am loving this season is sparkle or metallic boots. If you choose a pair in silver, black or gold, they will instantly give your all black look some spice!

Wear it to Work

No matter your position, a classic, tailored work wardrobe is sure to make you feel confident, polished, and ready to lead. But classic doesn’t need to mean old fashioned or boring. Infuse your 9-to-5 look with this season’s trendy couch floral prints in updated textures and finishes, keeping the look modern and timeless with a blush-coloured mock-neck shell.
