I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur when…

I was in middle school, and I started making and selling granola and lemon pies to save money. The feeling of creating something from scratch, selling it, and getting feedback from consumers was exhilarating!

Entrepreneurship is made for me because…

I am extremely ambitious (and restless), which allows me to dream big, work hard, and have an impact on both the community and the environment.

The impact I hope to make through my work is…

Creating awareness around the conservation of water in general (not just in the beauty industry), while also providing fair wages to Indigenous Women in my small hometown of Chihuahua. With this, I hope to help them break the cycle of poverty so future generations can have better opportunities in education—and in life.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned on my entrepreneurial journey is…

To be flexible and patient. There are numerous variants in the entrepreneurial journey, and most of the time, things do not work as planned—but that is where the magic happens.

My proudest accomplishment is…

My daughter, Sophia.

The biggest risk I took that paid off was…

Moving to Canada with nothing but $20 in my pocket.

My biggest setback has been…

There have been a number of setbacks, both small and large. The most immense to date was having three pallets shipped to a buyer, which were lost by courier, resulting in that order being cancelled. It was a substantial financial setback for the company, leaving us with a huge overstock. When they finally found the product, we had to take it back.

I overcame it by…

Collaborating with the buyer to reinstate the order and also working with the marketing team to increase sales.

The most valuable advice I have received as an entrepreneur is…

It is not necessary to possess complete knowledge in every area. Entrepreneurs often experience significant pressure to manage all aspects of their businesses, particularly during the initial phases. Through experience, I have recognized the importance of identifying personal strengths and effectively delegating responsibilities to individuals who are best equipped to handle certain tasks.

I surprise people when I tell them…

If given an additional hour each day, I would allocate it for research and development activities and exploring new product creation.

If you googled me, you still wouldn’t know…

My favourite place to spend an afternoon is at the beach with my family!

The future excites me because…

Consumers are evolving. Younger generations are increasingly attentive to product labels, actively seeking information about ingredients, and choosing to support companies that align with their values. This shift presents significant opportunities to influence and guide consumers towards decisions that benefit society and the environment.
