While current frameworks have helped attract increasingly diverse talent and add to a pipeline of potential leaders, many groups are still struggling to unlock opportunities for their advancement to higher ranks. With initiatives stalling, organizations are left asking: what will it take to finally move the dial? As we move into a new era of advancement, the future of GD&I has evolved beyond a one-dimensional approach to championing individuals based on gender, race or sexuality. It’s time to widen the lens and tap into the understanding that multiple social identities – including class, marital status, age, etc. – overlap and intersect in dynamic ways to shape each individual. In the episode, we hear from a panel of thought leaders who are at the forefront of intersectionality in this country, and provide insights on how leaders can truly relinquish labels and unconscious bias and reset the system to foster and advance diverse talent.
