What is the one piece of advice that you would give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Figure out early on, not just what you do incredibly well, but also what you really struggle with. I wasted a lot of time on tasks that I found frustrating and did badly before I realized that my time was better spent on my strengths. When I figured this out, I hired people to take care of my dreaded tasks, focused on my competencies and built a more successful business as a result.
What do you wish you knew at the beginning?
I wish I had gotten an office earlier and not tried to work from home. I wish I would have found a business support group or other “Board of Directors” sooner. I wish I would have been bolder about what my service was worth and charged more from the start.
