Former Captain of Canada’s National Women’s Hockey Team, Cassie Campbell is one of the most successful and recognizable players in women’s ice hockey history. A national team member for over a

decade, Campbell has won 17 gold medals on the international scene, including the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics. Cassie shares her passion for leadership, teamwork and determination in achieving gold medal success at the most challenging times.

BIO

Cassie Campbell has been with Canada’s National Women’s Team since the 1993-94 season, taking part in three Winter Olympic Games (1998, 2002, 2006), seven IIHF World Women’s Championships (1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005), nine Four Nations Cups (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005) and the Torino Ice Tournament (2005) … Has won 21 medals with Canada’s National Women’s teams, including 17 gold medals and four silver medals …Named to Canada’s 2003 IIHF World Women’s Championship roster, but the championship was subsequently cancelled …Captain of Canada’s National Women’s Team since the 2001-02 season … An alternate captain with Canada’s National Women’s Team from 1997-2001 … Attended the Team Canada Thanksgiving Festival in Kitchener, ON as a Team Leader in October, 2004 (due to injury), and participated as a player in Dartmouth, NS in October 2003 … From 1994 through 1998 was a defenceman with Canada’s National Women’s Team … Named to 1997 IIHF World Women’s Championship All-Star Team as a defenceman.


HOCKEY BACKGROUND

Played with the WWHL’s Calgary Oval X-Treme in 2004-05, winning the inaugural WWHL Cup in her fourth season with the club, third consecutive season as team captain … Won a gold medal with Team Alberta at the 2003 and 2001 Esso Women’s Nationals, and a silver in 2004 … Won a gold medal with the Beatrice Aeros (Team Ontario) at the 2000 Esso Women’s National Championship and a bronze in 1999 … Named Top Forward at the 2000 Esso Nationals … Played with Guelph University, and was named to the OWIAA 1st All-Star Team in 1996, and to the Second All-Star Team in 1992-93.

PERSONAL

Daughter of Donald and Eunice Campbell … Has two brothers, Jeff and Rick … Mother, Eunice, played nine games as a professional football player in 1969 … Resides in Calgary, AB with husband Brad Pascall … Has an Honours Sociology Degree from the University of Guelph … Sportswoman of the Year in 1996 at the University of Guelph … Inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 … Runs an annual street hockey tournament in Calgary, AB to benefit the Ronald McDonald House … Has worked as a colour commentator for TSN, The Score and the NHL Network and does radio work for Calgary Flames games … Along with Hockey Hall of Famers Bobby Orr and Mike Bossy, Cassie is a spokesperson and host for Hockey Canada’s Chevrolet Safe & Fun Hockey program … March 14th is Cassie Campbell Day in PEI.
