A Day in the Life: Natasha Koifman, Founder of NKPR

An Inside Look at PR Maven Natasha Koifman’s Daily Grind

10 A.M. Adelaide & John, Toronto

Natasha’s day starts at 7 a.m., long before she arrives at NKPR headquarters.

Her minimalist workspace serves as mission control for the multitude of high-profile projects, events and clients the agency works with, including Kiehl’s, Stila Cosmetics, RW&CO., Astra Zeneca and Allstate.

When she’s not following up on voicemail, responding to her hundreds of daily emails or connecting with clients, her office serves as a sanctuary and creative space to brainstorm and collaborate with her cross-functional team of 28.

A PR agency’s success relies on strong media relationships — and Natasha knows how to make it work.

Her far-reaching network allows her to make connections on both sides of the media landscape, from journalists and editors to those responsible for marketing content.

At lunch with Kerry Mitchell (Vice President, Rogers Publishing) and Karen Kelar (Group Marketing Director, Rogers Consumer Publishing) at Luma, the three chat about opportunities for strategic partnerships between NKPR’s clients, Rogers publications and promotional initiatives.

Always involved, a board member of Artists for Peace and Justice, Natasha accompanies the charity’s founder, Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis, to established client Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Area’s “Celebrate Bloor” event in celebration of the completion of the Bloor St. transformation project.

A natural trendsetter, Natasha can turn a new spot into an it Spot for her clients.

Case in point: the NKPR team opens La Société, the new French brasserie by Charles Khabouth and Danny Soberano (INK Entertainment) at 131 Bloor St. in the heart of the revitalized strip.

In PR, there’s no such thing as “business hours.”

Always on the run and working around the clock, here she chats with Lila Soberano at the official MuchMusic Video Awards after-party at Ultra Supper Club, which NKPR oversaw.

It was a brilliant night filled with celebrities, musicians and well-known personalities.
