Melanie Lang, CEO, NAKAI

 

Melanie Lang is the CEO and Co-Founder of the NAKAI Group which designs, builds, operates and owns luxury spa/salons. The first NAKAI was built in Moncton in 2006. Since then the Group, which employs over 60 individuals, has created two more – NAKAI Saint John in 2009 and most recently NAKAI Charlottetown in 2011 and is on the cusp of further expansion. Melanie believes that if you have the right people consistently delivering the right experiences in the right environment – you can achieve anything! She also believes that passion, systems and measurement are the backbone of getting the “right” right.

Melanie is passionate about customer experience, metrics and design. She has an MBA with specializations in Organizational Effectiveness and International Business from the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor. She is a Certified HR Professional (CHRP) and a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Melanie believes strongly in the importance of community involvement. She and NAKAI continue to be very supportive of numerous organizations in the Maritimes that are making amazing and essential contributions to our societal tapestry.

Melanie is dedicated to developing strong leaders – both within NAKAI and in her community. She sets aside at least two days a month to mentor, coach and grow leadership skills in her employees, managers and other budding entrepreneurs.

Melanie lives in Moncton, New Brunswick with her gorgeous, supportive husband and their two beautiful children – NAthan and KAIa.
Melanie was also honoured to be a Finalist for the Deloitte Start-Up Award in 2011.
