TORONTO, November 13, 2013 – The Top 25 Women of Influence will be celebrated at the 3rd annual Women of Influence Magazine Launch Party, on Tuesday November 20, 2013.  This annual ranking of the most influential women in Canada recognizes women from 5 categories; business, health, non-government organizations, professional services, and the public sector, for their measurable influence in their field.

The 50 invitation-only guests in Toronto will be joined virtually by their peers in Ottawa, Halifax, Calgary and Vancouver via Cisco’s video-conference platform, Telepresence, to discuss the important role mentorship played in their success.

Top 25 Women of Influence – Special Issue Magazine Launch Party

In a recent LinkedIn poll conducted by Women & Co. 51% of the women respondents reported never having a mentor.  And it is also reported that “women with mentors are SIX times more likely to be promoted to a bigger job”, according to a study quoted on money.cnn.com.  The question most asked by young women is “how do you find a mentor?”

The launch party celebrates the Top 25 Women of Influence by exploring how these women got there – with mentors and champions – and how they are paying it forward to their own mentees.   A thought provoking conversation with a selection of the Top 25 and their mentors and mentees will be moderated by Carolyn Lawrence (president & CEO of Women of Influence) to draw out the best practises, and how they found each other.

A much talked about phenomena, mentorship is a key element to women’s advancement to the top of corporations, impacting the talent shortage and bottom line health of businesses around the world.  The discussion will draw out answers to the questions many emerging female leaders have on finding and nurturing these vital relationships.

The Top 25 Special Issue Magazine will be released the following day on November 21st.  One-on-one interviews with the Top 25 and their mentors and mentees can be arranged at or following the event on the topic of mentorship and women’s advancement.
