Congratulations to all finalists of 2013 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.

As a relatively new immigrant, I have been exploring lots of things about the community and myself. Last year, not knowing anything about the Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards, I was nominated, and won! It was such a big surprise and encouragement for me. It made me feel I was supported and cared for by these people-some I didn’t even know, but they were there for me. I believe that the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award is a great campaign for all women, even for women who may not be in business. It is encouraging and inspiring.

People who run a business understand that this is a lonely and challenging journey. Any encouragement and inspiration will spark and inspire us when we may find ourselves facing challenges. Having outside support and understanding are things very precious to me.

Because of the award, I have had opportunities to meet more people from different industries and organizations and I feel more connected with the community. I made friends who share the same values and interests, all of which benefit my business and me. Winning the award was also an encouragement for my children. Both my sons were born in China, and this event not only made them feel their mother can be a role model for them, but also the ensuing media exposure gave them a great experience about the country as well.

It is that time of the year again! Congratulations to all the finalists of 2013 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur awards. To be successful is a way of living, the way we identify ourselves. It is not our destination, but a new start. Enrich others, enrich ourselves. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of our dreams.
