Lorelei Woolridge, Owner, Optique Boutique Inc.

I was born to Dorothy and Dr. Donald Wyatt, the only daughter and sister to older brother George.  My family taught me the importance of integrity and hard work.  My mother was a nurse, an educator, the first female councillor and mayor of the city of St. John’s.   My father was extremely dedicated to his work and pursued many careers, even with a young family.  My parents instilled in me an unrelenting determination in my work and family life.

After graduating from high school in 1979, I began work at Optique Boutique and commenced studies at the technical college.  By the end of 1982, I was licensed as a Dispensing Optician, and furthered my studies in 1983.  In 1991, I became a Certified Contact Lens Fitter.

I married Tony Woolridge and we had three daughters; Erin, Julie, and Carolyn.  The following years were devoted to raising our growing family.  In 2009, I purchased Optique Boutique Inc. with a vision to provide unprecedented customer service and unique product choices.  I completed the Automated Refracting Optician course in 2011 and the Manual Refracting Optician course in 2012.

My community involvement has included volunteering with the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (Executive of the Year for 2003) and liaison for the Chinese Women’s Soccer Team.  I also volunteered with the St. John’s Soccer Association, St. Matthew’s School Council and the Bishops College Safe Grad as Parent Chair.  Over the years, I have managed numerous female teams and traveled worldwide.  Mentoring young women to become strong contributing members of society is a passion.

I am the proud owner of Optique Boutique Inc., a vibrant business which has been built with my wonderful family at my side.  My mission is to provide exceptional eye care and eyewear, a home-like atmosphere, and to provide unique, affordable options to people of all ages.  I am a dedicated businesswoman and eye care professional and I love what I do!  I will continue to work unfalteringly to create a business distinguishable above all others; in my business world, I wish to be second to no one!
