Meet Marion Ulmann, Top 25 Women of Influence+ Award Recipient

Marion Ulmann is a growth-oriented, solutions-focused leader with over 15 years of experience. She has a proven track record in defining the vision, strategy, and operational plans that drive market expansion for pharmaceutical organizations. An expert in leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams across Canada, Japan, and Europe, she drives performance excellence, while continuously implementing process improvement initiatives. Her expertise spans maternal health, family planning, reproductive health systems strengthening, and service delivery. 

Early in her career, she worked as a lawyer and Congressional aide. As an attorney and a member of the Paris Bar, she provided litigation and counseling services to both public and private clients, including French national and local governments and administrative-territorial divisions. In her role as a Congressional aide, she was instrumental in lobbying activities and communications. From 2010 to 2023, she worked with Nordic Pharma/Linepharma, where she earned multiple promotions and held various roles, including Board Member, Vice President for the Americas, Asia, and Pacific regions, as well as General Manager for Canada.

In 2010, she founded Linepharma with a clear objective: to provide women with the choice and healthcare they deserve. She launched medical abortion products in over 25 countries, including Canada, Australia, Japan, and several European nations. She played a pivotal role in building the company’s operations from the ground up, establishing processes and procedures, and securing global partners and local pharmaceutical companies.

In 2023, she launched 49Care, further solidifying her commitment to providing high-quality healthcare products to women in Canada. 49Care is dedicated to bringing painless treatments to women through innovative products, exemplifying Marion’s ongoing dedication to innovation and growth in the pharmaceutical industry.

Marion holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Political Science from Université Sorbonne. She also holds a Finance Certificate from New York University and a Non-Profit Government Certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors (University of Toronto – Rotman School of Management). A trained French Attorney with a strong international background, she has worked in France, the US, Canada, and Senegal. Marion is a board member of both the White Ribbon Alliance and Options for Sexual Health.
