Women of Influence

Current Issue Spring 2018 :

In this issue, we’re proud to be sharing the stories of women leading the charge in their own way, helping to rewrite the script on what a woman’s role is meant to be. From the inspirational business owners who are our RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards winners and finalists [Pg 31], each with insights from their journey to share, to the stars of the award-winning Baroness Von Sketch [Pg 24] show, a.k.a. the new Queens of Comedy.

Our Co-CEO, Stephania Varalli, had the pleasure of interviewing Diana Burley [Pg 26], a world renowned I.T. security expert — and a woman of colour in an industry dominated by white males. And you can’t miss the story of Rachel Clark [Pg 22], a transgender activist who will be joining us on our Intersectionality panel this Spring.

More in this issue:

  • Fine Print: Four books that shaped the careers of the Women of Influence team
  • When Technology Imitates Life: will Artificial Intelligence be the downfall of gender equality?
  • Sarah Kaplan, Director, Institute for Gender and the Economy at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management on the innovation necessary to make equality happen.
