LEANING OUT Primetime Package

Finding Post-Career Success and Purpose

Join Trish Wheaton and Marge Watters, for a unique and innovative program designed for late-career senior professional women who want to stand on the shoulders of their professional selves to purposefully envision and plan their next phase — and make it their ‘Primetime’.

Whether your next phase involves a personal passion, a reinvention or an encore career, our program called the ‘Primetime Package’ contains four components executive women say they would most value to help them navigate the next phase: networking, transition coaching, next phase inspiration, and thought-leadership. The Package begins with a one-day seminar where you will join a small group of like-stage senior professional women to take an assessment of your experiences, skills, interests, knowledge and closest held values to develop your own post-career plan. It is followed by three one-on-one coaching sessions with Marge who has coached hundreds of clients through career transitions. The package also includes a 25% discount on three inspirational breakfast sessions on potential next phase roles: moving to a not-for-profit; board membership; or starting an entrepreneurial endeavor.

What's included in the LEANING OUT Primetime Package?
  • One full-day seminar designed to help you assess your current situation and explore your path forward
  • Three 90-minute, one-on-one coaching sessions with Marge Watters
  • A 25% discount on the LEANING OUT breakfast workshops, enabling you to explore your interests further.

Professional women anticipate their post-career lives with varied feelings. For some it means leaving behind an identity that has been core to their sense of worth. They feel unfocused, fearful and don’t know what to do. For others this transition is welcomed as a time of abundant possibility, a time not to retire, but “re-wire” and thrive in their post-professional “Primetime.”

LEANING OUT helps female leaders on the cusp of a significant career transition learn how to stand on the shoulders of their professional selves to envision and purposefully plan their next phase.

With this innovative curriculum, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Look back at the best of your career
  • Collect the stories of your significant accomplishments
  • Identify key skills that contribute to what’s meaningful for you
  • Identify your Strategic Advantage and where that meets a market need
  • Talk about what it’s been like for you to leave a full career behind and start afresh
  • Think creatively about possibilities for your future
  • Network with like-minded women to help you form your thoughts and plans

TRISH WHEATON | Principal and Founder

After leaving the corporate world, Trish realized she was not ready for retirement but was seeking ‘rewirement’ to find success and purpose post-career. Reaching out to top level professional women of her cohort, Trish realized she was not alone but there were few transition resources for women of her career stage to draw upon. Thus the beginnings of LEANING OUT.

Trish is a sought-after speaker and has keynoted conferences and events around the world, including the WARC Conference, the Cannes Festival of Creativity (3x), WPP The Store among others. She routinely speaks at top MBA schools across North America and frequently appears in the consumer and trade press.

Trish holds an M.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College. She is a former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer. Prior to her career in advertising, she was head of Direct Marketing at Yale University Press. She has received several honors and marketing awards in three different countries and she has been an Independent Director on several boards including a current role on Susan G. Komen national board.

MARGE WATTERS | Entrepreneur, Consultant, Coach and Author

Marge is a coach, consultant, author and entrepreneur who has spent more than 25 years helping individuals realize their career and leadership potential. She has extensive experience both with those seeking development in their current role and with individuals in career transition. She has worked with clients from a broad spectrum of industries including high tech, health care, finance, manufacturing, retail, non-profit and more. She has helped engineers, accountants, IT specialists, lawyers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and administrators including those from the C-suite to managers working on the factory floor.

In 1995, Marge and her partner, John Knebel, founded and led KWA Partners, now known as Optimum Talent. From start-up, the firm grew to be ranked among the top five organizations in the career management industry. Marge knows what it’s like to take a huge personal risk to start a business, manage every aspect of building it into a respected nationwide organization, and sell it successfully.

Working as a career consultant, Marge coached individuals from all levels of the organization to help them move successfully through the challenging process of career transition. As an executive coach, she helped her clients maximize their strengths and understand their development opportunities to advance their leadership potential. Among Marge’s achievements while leading KWA Partners is the authoring of It’s Your Move, a best-selling book about career transition published by HarperCollins in 2001, and now in its fourth edition.

Marge’s early experience includes 19 years in the financial services industry including corporate finance, and investment banking. She was a Vice President of Citibank Canada, and co-founder of Penfund Management Ltd. and Permanent Commercial Corporation. The latter two companies were start-ups where Marge gained her first experiences as an entrepreneur.

Marge holds an M.A. and a Master of Divinity degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University. She is a certified practitioner, qualified to use the Pathfinder Career System, one of the most in-depth personality inventories available in the field of assessment tools.
