Bobbie Racette

As the Founder and CEO of Virtual Gurus and askBetty, her businesses provide virtual help to busy professionals.

Bobbie Racette is the Founder and CEO of Virtual Gurus and askBetty, two businesses that provide virtual help to busy professionals. Fuelled by passion and purpose, she is determined to empower individuals from communities that have been historically underrepresented and providing them with equitable work opportunities. When Bobbie was laid off, she decided to venture into the freelance world and work as a virtual assistant. Her experience showed her how things could be better, and she decided to act on the white space she noticed in the industry.

With Virtual Gurus and askBetty, Bobbie and her team have created a VA service that helps businesses outsource certain administrative and other generalized tasks, but also provides employment opportunities to underrepresented folks who might have a more challenging time finding work. Today, Bobbie has created the largest virtual assistant freelancing platform in Canada with Virtual Gurus, and she’s also created a platform to help business owners that need to offload work on a more short-term, intermittent basis with askBetty. With unrelenting passion, Bobbie has successfully created a thriving community where diverse people and talents are not only recognized but celebrated, and where those that are used to hearing “no” hear “yes.”
