Edmonton Finalist, Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards

Bill Mah, Edmonton Journal | 10/12/2013
Christina Forth-Matthews started her own freight logistics company and has just been named a finalist for a national women’s entrepreneur award — all because a friend’s package got held up in shipping.
Forth-Matthews, president and CEO of AOG International, is one of 18 finalists for the 2013 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards, organizers announced Friday. They were selected from a pool of 3,000 female entrepreneurs across the country.
Forth-Matthews said she was shocked to hear the news because she and her company have remained relatively unheralded up to now. Growing from a company she started in 2003 in the basement of her Leduc house, AOG is now based at the Edmonton International Airport, has a branch office in Houston and employs about 20 people.
