Venus Williams Charms In Toronto Speech

TORONTO, Canada – Venus Williams made a stop in Toronto recently for the Deloitte Women of Influence Luncheon, speaking to over 1200 people about reaching for one’s goals, closing the gender divide and much more.

Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam champion and former No.1, stopped off at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the latest in the Deloitte Women of Influence Luncheon Series. By dispensing valuable insight into her life, her goals and the processes she uses in order to advance her career both on and off the court, Williams delivered a thoughtful and charming speech that motivated young athletes, executives and fans alike to receive her advice and embody it.

“My mom and my sisters have been huge influences in my life. I have three older sisters and one younger sister, so I had a lot of women before me to inspire me,” Williams said. “I’m driven and focused in everything I do, and everything I do I love. So it gives me the opportunity to achieve the best I can.”

Williams’ career values coincide with those promoted by Women of Influence: personifying confidence, pushing towards high achievement, smashing the gender pay divide and aiding the mentorship gap for women in the workforce. See original article
